Australia Day is creeping up, so if you're looking for something to do with the whole family or simply want to support those earning awards this year, then here's where to go around Mackay & The Whitsundays: 

Collinsville

7:30am - Community breakfast at the Collinsville Community Centre
9am - Official Australia Day Awards Ceremony

Bowen

10:30am - Australia Day Awards Ceremony at the Bowen PCYC 
12pm - Light lunch to follow

Airlie Beach

9am - Australia Day Awards Ceremony at the Whitsunday Marine Club, Cannonvale, with morning tea to follow.
10:30am - 2019 Citizenship Ceremony
12pm - Great Australian Bites Food Festival at the Broadwater Avenue Carpark in Airlie Beach  

Sarina Beach

2pm-6pm - Bar with a view, 'fastest man on the sand', cash prizes, free water slides, sand castle competition, pie eating, thong throwing, 3pm ocean swim, Aussie food & more!  

Eimeo Beach

9am-1pm - Aussie competitions: beach flag races, throw the thong, egg & spoon races, the Aussie Iron person (run 500, swim 200, down a cold pie & milo). There will also be face painting with vegemite, beach cricket and, a BBQ, bar and a band at the Eimeo Surf Life Saving Club afterwards.
