Wayne Bennett Reveals He'd Offered Green 'A Position at the Dolphins'

They were adversaries during the infamous 2015 Grand Final but Wayne Bennett and Paul Green had an incredible friendship and sadly today it can be revealed that their coaching relationship was about to continue.
Speaking on Triple M’s Rush Hour with Leisel Jones, Liam and Dobbo Bennett told listeners that he had put an offer to his 2006 Broncos premiership assistant coach to re-join him at the Dolphins next year to reignite his love for the profession.
“He had a lot of coaching in front of him and I’d offered him a position at the Dolphins in the last three weeks.”
“I think he was keen to come, we were just trying to work out a contract for him”

Bennett brought Green to the Broncos in 2004 as a player and took him on as an assistant before advising him to ‘cut his teeth’ at state league level, a move that saw Green evolve into one of the great Queensland coaches of the modern era.
