AFL Grand Final - Harrup Park (Saturday)

Grand Final day! The biggest day on the AFL Mackay calendar & we want you to be a part of the day. Food Vendors. Wood Fired Pizzas, Mexican, Gourmet Sausages, Coffee Shop, Ice Cream Van. Hit FM broadcasting LIVE from the ground at 10am. Gold Coast SUNS Kids Zone. Jumping Castle from 10am. Inflatable football ground from 10am. Face painter from 1pm Gold Coast SUNS giveaways Sunny Ray & Skye in attendance. Entry Adults: $5 Kids (U/18): Free Parking: All parking at Harrup Park is via the Bridge Road entrance. There will be NO PARKING for spectators via Lamb Street.

Mackay Rugby Fiji Drua vs QLD Country & Grand Final - BB Print Stadium (Saturday)

This is the biggest day for rugby union in Mackay for two decades, and it promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family with jumping castles and face painting - as well as a full day of rugby. Starting at 9am with the U16 game, followed by Mackay Rugby Championship Plate Final and the Super Tots.Fiji plays Queensland Country at 1pm and the Grand Final takes place at 3.30pm. Tickets: $15 adult, $5 student, U12 free of charge. 

Nth QLD Babies & Kids Market - Mackay Showgrounds (Sunday)

The Nth Qld Babies and Kids Market is on again Sunday 16th September, 8.30am-12.30pm at the Big Hall, Mackay Showgrounds Milton St. You’ll find a great variety of stalls as well as gifts bags, free Bounty Bags, craft area, face painting, jumping castles, great food and coffee. $2 adult entry under 16 ATM On-site and lots of car parking

Freckle Farm Tour - Four Ways (Sunday)

Our next farm tour is on Sunday 16th September. What better way is there to know that you are making the best food choices, than experiencing the farm firsthand? We love sharing how we produce healthy, nutritious award-winning food using our free range, pasture based, chemical free, natural farming principles. Our tours are family friendly and are a great way to teach children about where their food comes from. You will get to see: Free Range Chickens, Pastured Berkshire Pigs, Brahman & Nguni Cross Cattle, Permaculture Food Forest & Garden. At the end of the tour we offer a fun hay ride back to the farmhouse for the younger children and a sausage sizzle for those who have worked up an appetite! You will also be able to purchase our produce so please bring an esky or cooler bag with some ice bricks if you wish to do so. We have EFTPOS facilities available.

Rock Paper Scissors - Artspace Mackay (Sunday)

Artspace Mackay’s Annual Art and Design Market! Featuring indie design, art & craft stalls, food stalls, live music and Foodspace café. Stall holder applications open from March 1 to May 11 

Marian Markets - Marian (Sunday)

Held in historic Marian, this is a great local market with a variety of stalls. It’s on the 3rd Sunday of every month at 8am on Anzac Avenue - Holy Rosary Church – Marian.

Drone meet & fly day - Slade Pt (Sunday)

A friendly get together for drone enthusiasts to meet and fly their drones. FPV quad racers and freestylers welcome

Dudley Denny City Library - Mackay City (all weekend)

Now open, the Dudley Denny City Library has a layout that is both open-plan and packed with features. Not only is there 30 percent more space than the old City Library, this facility boasts the latest technological innovations designed to bring our community into the hi-tech future. From big screens to interactive floor projectors, laptop vending machines to collaborative media screens that talk to mobile devices, a 3D printer, the latest in gaming systems and even a “smart” shelf that checks books in by itself – this library has it all and much more. It’s open Saturdays 9am-3pm and Sundays 10am-2pm

Go bowling - Mackay Leisure Centre (all weekend)

Why not get the kids out of the house and take them bowling? Forget about the old wooden lanes, Mackay Leisure Centre now have the synthetic lanes which have glowing strips for a bit more fun. Bumper Bowling is always fun for the smaller kids too.

Slick 7 Raceway - Bakers Creek (all weekend)

Slick 7 Raceway in Bakers Creek is always a good idea for kids to have a bit of fun on the weekend. Did you know you can host parties for up to 16 people as well? You can give the kids a go for only $5 for 15 minutes, plus $1 slot car hire. The Slick 7 Raceway is located on Temples Lane and open between 10am-4pm weekends.
