Day one of the Landmark Country Football Championships have wrapped up, with both the South West and Regional Districts dominating play.

Regional Districts, made up of teams from Lower South West, Goldfields, Ongerup, Upper Great Southern and more, kicked off the day with a close win over the Northern Suns.

Leon Galby kicked the last two goals of the game for the Suns, but left them four points short losing 7.4 46 to 6.6 42.

It was players from the Lower South West that starred - Jacob West from Imperials amongst the best, while Sam van Diemen from Bridgetown and Reece Edwards from Tigers kicked 2 goals each.

Regional Districts then put the foot down in their second game, defeating the Great Southern Storm by 41 points.

The South West Colts side started their championships with a commanding seven goal win over the Great Southern, winning 10.8 68 to 4.2 26.

Carey Park’s Malek Wallam and Eli Hill combining for six goals in the contest.

Then a quick start in their second game against Peel Cavaliers saw them in control from the get go as they ran out 23 point winners.
